Sophie Deslongchamps: A Passion for Rescue and Life

Raised on a Scoudouc hobby farm, Sophie Deslongchamps grew up surrounded by dogs—a bond that deepened when she and her husband in Memramcook adopted their first rescue from PAW (formerly the SPCA). Their home soon became a haven for up to four rescued dogs and several cats, teaching Sophie that consistency and daily walks are key to canine happiness.

After shifting careers, she founded her own dog walking business, guided by the belief that what matters most is the human behind the tools. Alongside her passion for animals, Sophie cherishes her family, the thrill of motorcycles and classic muscle cars, and her signature pinup and rockabilly style—living proof that caregiving and passion can coexist beautifully.

Our Canine friends

Our journey with dogs began with Pup, our beloved founder from PAW (formerly the SPCA)—a gentle German Shepherd–Husky mix whose sweetness defined her and whose memory still warms our hearts despite cancer taking her too soon. Then came our Alaskan Husky, the epitome of her breed’s stubborn spirit and resilience; even after losing both eyes to glaucoma, she lived an active, joy-filled life until 16, inspiring everyone who met her. Skip, our lovable German Shepherd–Pitbull mix, was the sweetest “land seal,” always convinced she was starving, yet endlessly affectionate and full of charm. Kiko, a Husky–Pitbull mix, became one of our greatest teachers, helping us understand canine language and deepening our role as true kahu (Hawaiian for guardians). Little Chica, a senior Border Terrier, joined us at 14, bravely living with seizures and heart attacks yet always bouncing back until she peacefully left us at 16. Our pure Siberian Husky, once rescued from a rough start and guided by a trainer through SPCA, now thrives with us—safe, loved, and free to roam the woods. Finally, our newest addition, a lively Border Terrier from Nova Scotia, retired from breeding due to allergies, now embraces her new life of adventures, cuddles, and endless belly rubs.
